Simpurity Silver Alginate Dressings are made of natural fibers derived from seaweed through a series of special processes. It is designed to be fast acting and highly absorbant. The dressing absorbs exudates and forms a gel-like covering over the wound, maintaining a moist environment for wound healing. The gel-like surface also keeps the dressing from adhering to the wound so it promotes painless removal. This feature makes dressing changes easier and saves time for both the patient and health care professional. Simpurity Silver Alginate dressing can inhibit bacteria growing in the wound bed and reduce infection. The Simpurity Silver Alginate dressing has been tested in vitro and found to be effective against bacteria such as: Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus faecalis, Streptococcus pyogenes, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae. Simpurity Silver Alginate dressings are available in 2” x 2”, 4” x 5” and 8” x 8” pad sizes, and 1”x 12” Rope.
